Day 26

Roma

overcast 13 °C

This morning we took a lovely walk around the coast from Riomaggiore to the next town of the Cinque Terre and sat by the sea for a bit.

The walk back up to our bikes to load up was a hot and sweaty effort which we finally completed quite late and headed off towards Pisa. A really slow road with countless traffic lights delayed out progress.

When we arrived in Pisa we managed to ride straight past the leaning tower without noticing it, rode around looking for it for half an hour before parking up for some lunch. We retraced our path afterwards and got some shots of the impressive tower. We were going to. Get a shot of the bikes and the tower, but couldn't get close enough!

Joined the road to Rome after that, briefly very amused by some ladies of the night canvassing on the side of the road opposite a huge army base. We didn't have time to stop, but our overtaking kept them happy!

Toured some main sights of Rome before food, drink, sleep.

290 miles today takes us up to 4705 miles so far!

Rome already Ed!I'll be there 10th March for the football but it looks like you'll have marched on by then.

Maybe they were the Spanish ladies of the night who heard you could not find them earlier.
